Acoustic plaster ceilings Scherff – Rondo/Quadro/SD
Acoustic panel made of perforated plasterboard with glass fleece lamination on the visible side Building material class A2 s1 d0 – non-flammable.
Class A building materials
The advantages are in the system …
decades practical use of harmless building materials
complete structure of class A building materials (non flammable in accordance with
DIN EN 13501-1)
highly sound-absorptive over the whole frequency range
plasterboards simple to install, supplied with fibreglass lamination on the front
well-known and familiar commercial sub-construction
seamless connecting to with closed up plasterboards, e.g. at curved surfaces or at surfaces with less sound absorption
possibility to install all familiar ceiling fittings such as lighting systems, ventilation, speaker systems, maintenance hatches etc.
over 25 years practical experience
pure mineral acoustic plaster coating in three different grades: P-0 micrfine, P 0-1 superfine, P 1-3 fine, P 3-6 medium
additionaly, factory coloration of the acoustic plaster (base color white), following the NCS or RAL colour cards
When planning and installing the acoustic ceilings, be care, that the surfaces are not pressure ventilated on account of mechanical or thermal air-flows and wind pressure or suction. If there is any risk of such ventilation, we refer you to the acoustic board SCHERFF Rondo SD with special foil on the backside.
Technical data – Acoustic plaster ceilings Scherff Rondo/Quadro/SD
System
Scherff RONDO or QUADRO acoustic plaster ceiling made of perforated plasterboard supplied with glass fibre coating on the face and Scherff acoustic plaster as finishing coat.
Areas of application
Internally (if as ventilation ceiling – type Rondo SD)
Sub-construction
CD-profiles 60 mm x 27 mm – 0,6 mm
Nonius hangers
Anlge stays or cross-stays must be used to connect the basic and the load-bearing profiles
Spacing basic profile: max. 1000 mm
Spacing load-bearing profile: max. 320 mm
Spacing anchor hanger: max. 900 mm
Spacing bolts/screws: max. 170 mm
Types of board
RONDO 12-20/66 perforated surface proportion: 19,6 %
RONDO 8-15/20 perforated surface proportion: 5,2 %
Quadro 12/25 perforated surface proportion: 23,04 %
Long edges: half-rounded, flattened, card-coated, approx. 7 cm border unperforated
Cross-edges: sharp-edged, bevelled at the factory
Face: with factory-laminated fibreglass surface
Backside: Rondo SD with special foil
Installation
The perforated boards are to be laid transversly to the load-bearing profiles and overlapped
Screw spacing : 170 mm using TN 25 quick-acting screws
The long edges are to be fitted flush, the cross-edges with 4 mm spacing
The overlap of the transverse joints must be at least 640 mm
Installation of the cavity insulation
A 40 mm thick layer for the cavity insulation must be laod on the suspended perforated board ceiling with no gaps and laid tightly flush.
Material
Rockwool boards, thickness d = 40 mm,
weight/volume about 50 kg/m³
Mineral wool boards, thickness d = 40 mm,
weight/volume about 13 kg/m³.
If any other cavity insulaation materials or other thicknesses of the acoustic plaster layer are used, alterations are possible in sound-absorbing values.
Mineral wool boards welded in place, thickness d = 40 mm, weight/volume about 40 kg/m³
Installation guidelines
Further principles of installation are DIN 18181 and 18168, also the installation guidelines laid down by the board manufacturers or suppliers.
Grades and color
Acoustic plaster type P 0 – 1 (superfine)
Acoustic plaster type P 1 – 3 (fine)
Acoustic plaster type P 3 – 6 (medium)
Base color: white
Additional coloring: according to colour cards RAL, NCS, or similar
Building physical data
Plaster – perforated boards: A2 – non-inflammable
Scherff acoustic plaster: A1 – non-inflammable
Light reflection value in %: mean value about 85%
